STARTING DECEMBER 21, the FAA wants you to register your drone. If it weighs more than 0.55 pounds and less than 55 pounds, you’re legally required to tell the country about it. The FAA says this is being done in the name of safety, and that consumers have until February 19 to register. The system, thankfully, is simple: You can do it all on line starting December 21, here. And hey, if you get it all taken care of before January 20, 2016, the FAA will waive the $5 registration fee! (Yes, that’s right, there’s a $5 registration fee.)
